A Fresh Perspective

A Fresh Perspective

“Sometimes it takes a new set of eyes in order to see a fresh perspective.” ~Iyhia McMichael

Today I understood the beauty of change and a fresh perspective with my recent trip to the dentist office. Although I did not enjoy getting two cavities on a Monday morning, I am thankful for a fresh set of eyes. In the past, I have always visited the same eye doctors and dentists from my home town in Nacogdoches, Texas. Each visit would be short lived and sealed with a “see you next year.” But with my most recent dental visit in Ohio, I was thankful for a fresh set of eyes. The dentist was able to see a spot in my teeth that was overlooked in the past. Although the new perspective resulted in a Monday morning dentist appointment, I was thankful for a new set of eyes to bring forth a fresh perspective.

“Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your law.” Psalm 119:18 (NLT)

God challenges us to wake up each morning with a fresh perspective in regards to his will for our lives. We are creatures of habit and become rigid in our daily routines. When we commune with God he allows us to see an old situation with new eyes and fresh perspective.  Without his daily guidance, our vision becomes foggy and our growth becomes stagnant. We find ourselves spending several frustrating hours racking our brains trying to figure out how to come up with the best solution, the best road to take, or the best door of opportunity to go through. It is through intimate relationship and connection with the Lord that we find peace in the unknown, the calm in the midst of endless possibilities, and the fresh perspective of a seemingly difficult obstacle. Today I am thankful for the Holy Spirit where we can hear his words above our own and see his vision beyond our own dreams.

Reborn.Renewed.Recolored.
